Meritorious Conduct Award
The LEAPS program was proud to present the Meritorious Conduct Award at the 2011 ASSIST Security Symposium to Security Officer Jason Leap. Officer Leap has demonstrated exemplary professional conduct during the past year. While this has been an annul award presented at the symposium, this year there was an added monetary benefit to the recipient. Everyday great work is being done by security professionals; the award is a small recognition of that work. Please look for an email with details about the nomination process for 2012 and join us at the symposium. Our thanks go out to Robert Kenney and Michael McGregor who, on behalf of ASSIST, produce a great event.
Texas Association of Licensed Investigators 40th Annual Convention
The LEAPS program was grateful for the opportunity to present at the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators 40th Annual Convention held in Fort Worth, Texas. The LEAPS partnership with the Dallas Downtown Security Directors Association continues the tradition of information sharing which has included, but not limited to, daily updates on events surrounding OccupyDallas visits, September 11th anniversary intelligence, and participation in critical asset infrastructure protection. The LEAPS program has worked with members of the Harris County Sheriff's Office on establishing a program in their region
L.E.A.P.S. - Fostering a positive working relationship between law enforcement agencies and the private security industry since 1984.
The tragic events of September 11, 2001 have dictated a strong commitment from all levels of law enforcement in the war on terrorism. Critical infrastructures vital to our country are protected by members of the private security industry. Now more then ever, it is imperative for law enforcement and all sectors of the private security industry to network our efforts to protect our domestic and international interests.
LEAPS recognizes these new challenges and will continue to foster a strong working relationship between law enforcement agencies and the private security industry in order to protect our country’s interest and our citizens’ safety.
